    What’s a keeper?

Keepers are the leather loops around the belt which hold the end of the strap in place. A fixed keeper is stitched into place and a loose keeper can slide along the leather for you to position yourself.

    What about colour fastness?

Leather is a natural product and some colour transfer is to be expected, especially in damp conditions.

    What’s tallow?

Tallow is an animal fat introduced to the skins as they lose moisture during the tanning process and it helps to protect the leather during this process and in turn while we are working on the items we make. As with any traditionally tanned English bridle leather, the waxy residue comes to the surface of the skin over time. Each belt is brushed well before it goes to its new owner, however, some tallow may still rub off onto clothing for the first few times of wearing. This is normal and should brush off the clothing or wash out with out any trouble. Simply brush the leather with a clean shoe brush to reveal the natural lustre.
